Locking Park drop first points in the league in a difficult fixture at home to Wedmore.
The game didn’t start well with the allocated referee not turning up. This coupled with the wind and rain meant the fixture was in doubt until Park coach Damien Bromley agreed to ref the game.
After a late kick off, Locking then took at least twenty minutes to get in to the game. In that time Wedmore took the lead through a mistake by home keeper Aaron Honeywell, somehow letting a tame shot through his legs on 10 minutes.
Park levelled ten minutes later when Mitch Corrick played a through ball which the away keeper missed, the ever-present Chris Green scoring again to make it 1-1. Wedmore took the lead straight from the kick off only for Locking to equalise again. A Ryan Harris cross being nodded in by a Wedmore player – Chris Green leaping with the defender and unlucky not to get a touch.
Park took the lead for the first time via a through ball from Harris for Chris Green to calmly finish. Locking then held on for most of the second half and should’ve come away with all 3 points. But Wedmore piled on the pressure and on 88 scored from a corner to level the game.
A good performance from all in difficult conditions. CES Man of the Match went to Ollie Boyd.
