Locking Park first team won away against Wedmore to extend their unbeaten run in the league.
In difficult conditions the start of the game was a bit scrappy, but Park took the lead on 18 minutes through goal machine Chris Green. Mitch Corrick ran through the middle, passed to Green who curled in a brilliant opening goal. Ten minutes later it was 2-0, playmaker Ash Towler hitting one from the edge of the box which lobbed over the home keeper. Wedmore got one back just before half time after a push in the area was penalised by the referee, converting the resulting penalty to make it 2-1.
In the second half Park started brightly, going 3-1 up after a Harry Hornigold through ball found Chris Green who controlled and finished calmly. A minute later Hornigold got another assist, getting the ball on the right, hitting a ball across the box for Ross Radford to tap in. Ten minutes later Hornigold deservedly got on the score sheet, after a break from Radford to Chris Green who passed across the box to find Hornigold who made it 5-1.
Park looked to be cruising but Wedmore weren’t going to just rollover, getting back to 5-2 on 58 after good play through the middle and converting a one-on-one. The home team pressed on getting two more goals making 5-4 before the final whistle was blown.
An exciting game with lots of goals showing the best and worst of Locking Park this season, and taking nothing away from Wedmore. CES Man of the Match went to the ever-present and hard-working Mitch Corrick.
