Cleeve West Town Reserves 2 – 3 Locking Park
Locking Park earned a hard fought victory in their first game in a month away against Cleeve West Town Reserves.
Park were first to score after Tom Rolls’ diving header from a Mitch Corrick cross on 11 minutes. It was soon 2-0 after a Somers Counsell long-range free kick caught the wind causing the home keeper to flap at the ball, it ending up in the back of the net on 20.
In the second half Cleeve took advantage of the wind and slope and got one back on 53. A free kick expertly slotted passed stand in keeper James Bromley. Five minutes later the scores were level after Joe Pearson was judged to pushed a Cleeve attacker in the box and the home side converted the resulting penalty.
But it was Park’s day when Russel Carter played Rory Atkins in and he volleyed the ball passed the oncoming keeper to seal the winner.
