First team leave it late in the cup

Locking Park beat a spirited Churchill Club 70 Reserves 3 – 0 after extra time to go through to the next round of the Knock-out Cup.

It was end to end stuff for most of the game with Locking going close multiple times, the away keeper pulling off some decent saves to keep the score level. Churchill striker Will Poole even found the net but it was judged offside.

The game really came to life in extra time with Park finally breaking the deadlock when Harry Hornigold crossed to Ollie Boyd to head home. In the second half Hornigold was the provider again, this time Joe Pearson bundling the cross into the net to make it 2-0. The game was put beyond doubt after Somers Counsell put substitute James Bromley through and he calmly placed the ball past the oncoming keeper.

A decent result albeit slightly flattering for the home side. C. Erison Man of the Match went to Ollie Boyd.
