Locking Park produced an outstanding display to beat Division Two side Clevedon United A 12-2 in the Knock-Out Cup.
Park started the game brightly with Mitch Corrick crossing into the box to Tommy Rolls to head in on 4 minutes. The next goal came 10 minutes later; James Bromley starting the move from the back, passing to Tom Rolls who then crossed to Aidan Dancer at the far post to fire into the net. Another 10 minutes later it was 3-0, this time Joe Pearson outpacing a Clevedon defender down the left, crossing in and Rory Atkins finishing with an impressive header. The fourth was on 40, Rory Atkins chesting down to Ryan Harris to get his first of the game and finish the out the half 4-0 up. The half wasn’t all good for Locking as the lost defender Joe Pearson to nasty head injury, replaced by Jack Poole.
In the second half the goals kept coming with Tom Rolls, Aidan Dancer and Jack Poole combining to put through Ryan Harris on 52, Jack Poole finishing after Rory Atkin’s chip hit the post on 54, Atkins assisting Harry Hornigold on 60, Rory Atkins heading in a Jack Poole free kick for his hat-trick on 62 and Harris getting his second to make it 9-0.
Clevedon came back into the game with two goals in 5 minutes, both long balls up the pitch catching Park on the break to make it 9-2 but the game finished with a quality outside-the-box effort by Tom Rolls on 75 and Ryan Harris getting a deserved hat-trick on 85 volleying in a Chris Green cross.
A top-drawer performance by all, man of the match went to Rory Atkins.
